Batman: Arkham Origins is a third-person action-adventure game and a prequel to the Arkham series. Set years before Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, it portrays a younger, more aggressive Batman still early in his crime-fighting career. The game features an open-world Gotham City filled with danger, corruption, and a rising criminal underworld.
Unlike the more experienced Dark Knight of later games, this Batman is still learning to balance justice, fear, and restraint. The game builds on the signature freeflow combat and stealth mechanics of the series while introducing new enemies, gadgets, and detective elements.
📖 Storyline
The game takes place on Christmas Eve, when Gotham is thrown into chaos after crime lord Black Mask places a massive bounty on Batman’s head, attracting eight elite assassins. Throughout the night, Batman battles through these killers—including Deathstroke, Firefly, Copperhead, and Killer Croc—while trying to uncover the real motive behind the hit.
As the story unfolds, Batman encounters The Joker for the first time, setting the stage for their legendary rivalry. The narrative also explores Bruce Wayne’s evolving relationship with Alfred, James Gordon, and the Gotham City Police Department, all while the vigilante begins shaping his identity as Gotham’s symbol of justice.
